The life expectancy is very variable for the 1.8T AUDIs and VWs.
From what I have seen, AUDIs and VWs that are not driven hard
will last a long time... (Just drive like a 70 year old...)
If you let me drive one it won't last very long... while my
9-5 has had nothing of importance so far.
As to the KKK turbo... well even APR admits that it is not
great and they prefer Garrett units.
I believe that the 2nd hand value of A4s is overrated
as they age less well then most people think... but then
again if you pamper it and don't abuse it, it will do fine.
If however you do have a harsh driving style where you warm
up the engine and then drive your car to its limits every
day... well then consider something tougher.
Regards,
Coolknight
P.S. I tend to overheat any VW and AUDI engine on montain
drives in hot weather... while the cars that I own right
now are immune to this.
