I know that tis might atart the big clivil liberties debate on this board, but do have a simple question for you. If you are driving your car on a public road, and given that driving is a privledge, and not a right, are you obligated to obey the laws of driving? And if you do not, are you liable for the consequences? Since when is having your vehicles operation monitored a violation of your rights, especially since you never had rights to operate, only a priveledge, which is revocable.
By the way, regarding Onstar,it only has your position information during the times you are connected to it by pressing the button. The only exception to that is if your car is stolen,in which case it's position is reported due to the alarm having been violated. NOt a bad thing if you ask me.
The GPS based position needs to be sent to them via the telephone connectionfor the system to work.
