Cori,
*If* I'm the one holding up traffic, I agree 100%. However, if you're the last in a line of 30 cars going slow, absolutely no purpose is served by tailgating the person you're following - he probably wants to go faster, too! The blame lies with the person in the front of the line, and by tailgating anyone else, you're pressuring the wrong person. Contrary to what your emotions may tell you, it's *not* possible to drive faster than the car in front of you - watch the TV news for photos of people who don't understand this.
Can't tell you how much I'd give for just a tiny suspension of the laws of physics so the slow person could always be at the *rear* of the line :^)
BTW, if you don't live in Florida, you should consider yourself lucky - the unwritten rule of the road here is that if you are driving 0.001 MPH faster than someone else, you should immediately move to the next lane to pass them, even if it takes aaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllll ddddddddddddddddaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! :^(
