I believe we have two main problems in the US. First of all, and I realize this has been said, but trucks go WAY too fast. I've been driving between Boston and New York on a snowy winter night and had a huge rig fly past me, and I was going 65-70. Secondly, people don't understand how to use lanes. I was in Italy over the summer, and most of the roads I was on had two lanes going each way. The funny thing was, traffic was moving much more smoothly compared to the congestion than anything I've ever experienced in the states. People stay to the right, and then absolutely punch it when they want to pass. I'd like to see some sort of speed limit by class, but it really isn't likely. I guess the only thing we've got going is that we're alert drivers that love our cars too much to let anybody cause them harm :-)
