I'm taking a course in urban geography, and my professor made a good point about China. Their economy and quality of life is growing at a extreme rate. Whats going to happen when all those Chinese want a car to drive? Where is the oil going to come from? The US already consumes like 40 percent of the worlds oil, and China has 4 times to population of the US. Somehow, China is going to need to figure out this problem. It would be nice if they went electric, that way they wont be in as much competition as us. Something like that.
