Old topic, why people should get tested for skills

A while back I made the point that I thought that people should be tested for good driving skills every once in a while (maybe 5 years?). Well, my point was proven this morning. Walking out of Kinney Drugs in Potsdam, NY when I hear massive metal/tire (sounded like a big accident). So I look beyond the parking lot and into the road thinking that someone probably got t-boned. No, this is not the case! Instead I see this little old lady in her Merc. Grand Marquie (sp?) pushing a very old caddy (maybe 84 ish? It was HUGE, must have weighed close to 5000lbs) out of its parking space. I can only figure that the woman pulled into her space, tried to hit the brake and missed, forcing her car into a shopping cart, and then into the Caddy. Well, she pushed that caddy right out of its space and swung it around in the parking lot before coming to a stop.
I just stood there and said, "huh", and calmly walked off to do my laundry. In any case, there are only 2 explinations for such an occurance.
1) The lady hated the owner of the caddy
2) The lady is too damn old to be driving safely.
I'm just glad there were no people in the way! (and that she was across the lot from my SAAB)
What does it take to realize that you should probably just take the bus?
Liam :-)
