I'm not sure I have any good answers for you, all I can
tell you is my experience when my own mother died. She
had beed a devoted and faithful Christian all her life,
and when she found out she had intestinal cancer, she
took it like a soldier. She went through several months
of chemotherapy, having her stomach tapped and drained
all of which mostly prolonged her suffering so she could
adapt to the situation. During that time my Dad and I,
did our best to be supportive of her and try to make
life as easy as possible. In the end, I think she was
glad to be able to die to escape the pain. My Dad and
I were with her at home during her final hours. About
six oclock on Christmas Eve, she lay down, and literally
began giving up her life. I went into her room a few
times to tell her I loved her. Then I felt helpless to
do anything, and I lay down on a sofa in the next room
and my Dad sat in another. In the last hour I literally
saw a Light about the size of a basketball play on the
wall between us. By 2:30 Christmas morning she was dead.
What i regret most about that was not staying in her
room with her until the end. Just to be there. I still
wish I had done that. God Bless.
