Perhaps it is not as sensible as yours. It rarely cuts the engine off and is very helpful to get better traction on slippery surfaces. At first I almost rammed the car in front of me when taking off because it was not taking off as fast as me. In very deep snow I do turn it off because wheel spin helps to make your own path.
