I used to play in the USBL and used to cycle during the off season
as a less harsh way of keeping in shape AND improving my
speed/quickness than running could.....
I love watching the Tour de France and truly admire Lance Armstrong
and enjoy watching him more than several of my friends who happen to play in the NBA (Sam Cassell, 'Cat' Mobley, Chauncey Billups..)
I also love my Saabs more than the guys I hanfg with who have the
go-racer, Escalade, BMW set
and I believe it or not cycling is used by hoop teams quite abit; just
that cycling in this country is like soccer/futbol
no $$ = no star power (as sad as that is)
I stand out in the 'hood in Boston areas as many black folk do not see
my point of view...
1- i drive Saabs and love em (All over new england!!!)
2- i cycle and enjoy it quite abit
3- i also do not understand why the Tour de France is not given more
exposure with both the athleticism and the US haivng the reigning team/winner....
Not to knock you but there are several hoop and other athletes that use cycling a s a mean to increase their training and abilitiy to perform!!!
