Doug, I too also made a stupid mistake and had my '74 ems recently judged at a saab event. I had the only fully detailed and correctly restored 99 there, and also had many rare options on the car that people judging them didn't know. I had it judged to throw some money to the event, and that was it. I have to admit though, that I also came in third to two turbos that weren't even close to mine... and it does kinda leave you with a bad taste in your mouth. Doug, I've been following your restoration quite closely, and your 99 is a very good restoration. If properly judged, they could deduct a few points on the paint color, but seeing as it is a OEM color, only a few. The quality of the engine bay spray more than makes up for any deduction. Remember my comments on starting up a 99 club a while back? I was just refering to a local cruise club, but got responces from people thinking it was a good national idea. Now you know why. Turbos Rare??? I see them turn up all the time.What you should have done is take on of those turbos in the 1/4 mile and then have it judged. D Jet rules.
