Hi,
I think the hit on John is called off. I think that instinctively he
sensed that he was going to get whacked. That is the only conceivable
reason for his not going on the trip.
There is more going on with John than meets the eye. He likes to
project the image of a perfect and honorable husband, but there is
something else eating away at him. I need to watch the episode again
to try to gauge exactly what's going on with him.
I especially like the touch of the hit-man being called off by a
cell-phone call. How many of us have had bad reception in a building,
especially in an elevator? So, but for an unreliable call being made
at the last minute, Ralphie would have been history. Life is full of
these ironic twists, and I like the fact that this show captures that.
How many times do we make plans we think are perfect only to have it
completely foiled by some seemingly random chance event?
I love this show! I need to watch this episode again.
thanks
Jae
