Hello HD
We have an 87`Jeep Wagoneer Limited downsize.(Just like cherokee)200k mi.
Its been about as reliable as our SAABs which I`d say is above average.
It gets 18-20 MPG.4 liter 6cyl.The biggest complaint is the side to side rocking on bumpy roads and it feels small. My wife just got a '99 Grand Cherokee Laredo, same engine, no comparison. It's roomy and it feels alot like my '01 9-5. We`ve both always logged our gas fill ups and the '99 gets 20 mpg consistantly, we even got 24.5 mpg on a day trip! I`m now the only SAABer in the family, but the Jeeps are great for towing our 18` I/O Boat and the snowmachines. According to the other posts here it looks like the two go well together,good luck.
