Seems Tony is blaming Dr. Melfi for his lack of "impulse control"--does he really think she's to blame for Ralph's death?
Come on, Tony, suck it up, it's nobody's fault but your own.
He's embarrased that the Russian peg-leg feels that people who see therapists are needy crybabies, but Tony needs someone to confide in--he desperately wants to share his problems and conflicts with his wife, but he cannot.
That's Jennifer Melfi's role; in a way, she's his goomar. Jennifer and Tony share(d) an unequaled intimacy... (I thought it was funny when he offered her diamonds) When Tony called it quits and left, it looked like she became a bit despondent, and she called her own psychiatrist for support... Dr. Melfi *loves* having Tony around; remember when she was raped, and was just reveling in the idea of having her rapist wiped off the face of the earth by Tony & Co.?
It seemed that Dr. Melfi was trying to move ahead and address Tony's criminal behavior; sorry, Jen, that's not gonna happen.
Oh, and who do you suppose the lady coming down the stairs in his second dream was? Perhaps it somehow represented Tony's mom? And what about that Italian accent?
