I LUST for the new GT40 and the pikes peak viggen about equally. Heck, I'd be happy with the pikes peak viggen detuned to about 2/3 the power for longer air filter life and engine life. Neither are in my price range :-)
Maybe I'll be part of the second hand/third hand market for such unafforable crazy cars after they have ten years on the clock and aren't serious collectibles yet.
The GT40 isn't just a pretty retro car. It was built to beat Ferrari and it did it very well, and it was available to buy for the street too. $15-20K back in the 60's is 3-4 time what a Jag E-type sold for then, so it was not cheap, but it seems that way now! The new GT will be Ford's most expensive car. Some of the lemans raced cars had luggage boxes behind the engine as the street cars were required to have, other than that it's pure testoserone!
