Yes SAAB would be dead if it kept making the c900. I'm not advocating that they do that. I think the BMW 3.0 CS is one of the most beautiful cars BMW has made in the last 30 years. I don't think they should still be making it. That was not my point.

But, to your question, frankly, I'd rather see SAAB out of business than loosing their soul completely and becoming rebadged GM cars (I still fear that is where this is headed).

What is the point of the company if it becomes that? Keeping it alive at all cost just because it is SAAB is not logical if they have nothing unique to offer. I don't get the 9-3SS. I don't see anything unique they are offering with that car. It is the very definition of "me too" sport sedan that andy pointed out when he started this thread.

So yes, I'm going to bemoan the loss of what I consider SAAB, because a SAAB that is only a SAAB because of a nameplate and has nothing unique to offer is not a SAAB I care about.

I definately consider myself a SAAB enthusiast, but I'm not going to mindlessly lap up whatever they give me just because it has those 4 letters on it.

Perhaps you should not consider us as stuck in the past, but enthusiasts that are truly sad that a car company that was once unique is in effect going away.
