and this will benefit SAAB? No. Don't give a group grasping at straws any more dumb ideas.
I read on the 9-5 board that going to a 3 inch header and downpipe gave the stock engine a 23 HP increase. That is a cheap mod the factory could do, assuming it does not hurt drivability. And thats before you play with the computer mapping.
Start elevating the existing models by having a higher output motor for the Aero's and slightly higher HP for the intermediate models. 170hp is not enough. They don't have to have the reliability of hand grenades, just above average so it generates buzz.
Generic Motors need only look at the history of Pontiac under DeLorean (before he found that things went better with Coke) on how Pontiac became a hot brand because of big motors in desirable cars. Ancient history, but when a chick is running the program with the bean counters, I guess it will not get consideration.
