Story 1:
Scene: the local Post Office. My coworker is in line to buy stamps. A person steps up to the counter to mail a parcel to Buenos Aires. The postal clerk asks what country Buenos Aires is in. The person mailing the package DOESN'T KNOW! So, the postal clerk calls out "Anybody know where Buenos Aires is?" Several people in line call out "Brazil!" and "uh, South America?". My coworker says "Argentina." The postal clerk says "She sounds like she's knows what she's talking about, so Argentina it is."
Story 2:
Scene: a McDonalds. Another coworker orders a big mac, fries and a coke to go. The clerk can't get the register to open. After several attempts she calls the manager over. The Manager looks in the bag and looks at the screen and realizes that the clerk had put a 1/4 pounder in the bag instead of the big mac. He puts the correct item in the bag then hits the correct keys on the register and the drawer opens. The clerk says "Oh, that must be it, I put the wrong sandwich in the bag. I wonder how the register knew?"
