Note that the statement said "contamination". So if your car is covered in dust from a small dirty bomb but isn't damaged otherwise, then insurers will not pay off if you feel the vent system is contaminated with radioactive particles and you don't want to use the car for health reasons.
That is why the terrorism threat is so real to this country. Small acts can disrupt the economy. Terrorism could bankrupt insurance companies, so they are starting to limit their liability. Even a small act of terrorism could impact residential and commercial real estate values, job growth, the stock market, pension fund assets and 401-k plans. Long term it could stifle investment, especially foreign investment. It is already increasing the overall daily cost of doing business.
Ironically, this country welcomes anyone under almost any circumstance to live here and have a chance to prosper. Our economy is the biggest target and no one will be immune if the economy is impaired.
