Salty Roads and Satin Finish don't go well together...

Viggen wheels aren't the only satin finished wheels with this issue. I think that this goes back to taking care of one's car. If you drive a car with delicate wheels, take measures to preserve them. I don't think that Vintage Ferrari and Maserati owners complain about the manufacturer when their spoked wheels rust from driving in the rain and snow. Or current Porsche owners complain when they get roadrash or salt damage from driving in unfavorable conditions.
The Viggen was (and is) a special vehicle and should be treated as such. It is a limited production car with some 'specialty' fitted parts. Just because it does well as a daily commuter doesn't mean it was designed to be used as such.
Cheers,
Brian.
