A co-signer can dramatically affect the interest rate and save a bundle. Does she live at home? Whether the loan is joint or individual, an auto loan will enhance her credit score dramatically. Once an auto loan is established, joint or individual, the way is paved to credit independence.
The only downside would be if your credit is at it's limit. You co-signing has the same affect as you buying, but for most people that's not a problem.
Do call the lender and make sure they have your information correctly so that if your daughter defaults, they contact you. Don't assume this. Even though you won't get a bill, your expected to know that a payment is due.
