I'm driving a Volvo S60 as a rental car while my wife's 9-5 Aero gets fixed. Her car was hit pretty hard but is not totalled. It did VERY well in the accident so I'm sold on Saab or Volvo. That being said, here's my S60 review.

Verdict:
A safe pretty swedish cab.

Pros:
Nice interior.
Nice exterior styling.
Pretty quite if you can ignore the engine.

Cons:
Bad ride. The ride feels hard even though the suspension is soft.
Bad handling. The soft suspension makes driving a bore/chore. Wallows like a 1988 Buick.
Lack of throttle response. The engine responds very slowly to input.
Lack of engine refinement. The engine groans and I can feel it vibrate through my shoes.
Not much fun.
Dash seems too high or too far away. I cannot tell which but I don't like it.

That being said, the S60 R fixes all of those except for the dashboard.
