The Caddy has come a LONG way. The cars have some subtle, quiet appeal. Yet, even when comparing to the Saab's old dashboard (even with the update) the Caddy's interior looks really really cheap to me. There's just too much unimpressive texturing, too much plasticy looking plastic. I have only sat in it.. so the longterm comfort isn't something I can comment on. What I can say is that this forum can easlly focus on the negatives and here's some of what I really LOVE about my 9-5 with 72k...
-Rattle free (my MINI rattled like a tin can and a cheap mattress from 350 miles!!)
-Dynamite seats
-Brilliant side mirror with extra wide view
-nice key
-strong side mirrors ( sounds odd, but mine get bumped a lot in my sliver of a garage, and after -4 years, they're still holding together
-tough body. -again, the mini dented if you looked at it. The Saab seems to have thicker metal
-great service
-good visability
-trip computer
-perfect steering wheel
-good steering feel (light but correct. Our newer BMW 3 series has rather heavy steering. Great for control, but fussier than the Saab)
-Great mpg for a lux car
-the brand doesn't evoke envy, hate, pity, expectations. (pulling up in a BMW says something to some people, and whatever it is, I'm not interested in saying. It's just a good car, not a penis extention)
So, there's my love-fest for the 9-5.. maybe it will help you find your love for a new one.. best of luck either way. Last, you might want to check epinions.com and search CTS to find owners' reviews of the car. It can be really helpful.
