The windshield sticker that "documents" the oil change had the "semi-syn" box checked. Right under that box was the synthetic box -- it was clearly not checked. I almost wish I had taken it to another dealership (Braman) to get an assessment from someone other than the selling dealer. I agree that it was likely a leased car. I also found evidence of body damage on the driver's side where door skins likely were replaced and the rear fender was repaired. That could be either cosmetic or something larger. Ultimately this won't be a primary driver other than for 3 months or so each year.

It's still under warrantee, for what that's worth. Wish my dad had done some more digging!
