I've been biting my tounge trying to not smart off about your M35 and your lack of appreciation for current Saab models, but I couldn't resist any longer.
"Absolutely trouble free" and then you mention the nav, no "racecar" feel of a Saab, a slew of techno toys, one of he biggest plusses of an M35, "most of which I'll rarely use".
You coulda' had a 9-5, maybe (for your benefit) not a superior car to an Infiniti M35, but certainly more memorable. The reasons for buying a Saab remain the same, not everybody has one and a very unique configuration, making the car more enjoyable, practical and very importantly, more memorable. You love your C900s, but in that period you coulda' had the pre-Infiniti M35 equivalent, the Maxima (still to this day in many markets the M35 is a Nissan) and sung the same praises, and lamented the two-stroke Saabs of yore, but where are those Maximas now?
Me I just can't take Japanese design and styling, regardless of some perceived advantage in other areas. The only Japanese cars I somewhat like are European or (gasp) American designs. Infiniti has a spotty history of M designations, none have really endured and some have been downright goofy looking and all have had so-so trade in values, the G35 being the first Infiniti in memory that wasn't sub par resale wise.
Enjoy your M35, I'm sure it's one hell of a car, but I'll take a 9-5 anyday.
