I have a 1982 911SC. Love it, but parts are very expensive. 944 is a lower cost option and probably just as much fun. Parts are most definitely cheaper. You will be able to get a much newer 944 vs 911 for the same price, and newer = faster. My 911 is great, but the 1979-1983 SC's are not that fast. Now handling is awesome, and I can carry my speed better than most other cars out there thru the corners, but the CIS injection system is a serious limiter to modifications for more HP. If you do go 911, I would go at least 1984 or later Carrera with pulsed injection (DME), you can do alot more with them HP upgrade-wise.
Nick.
