We kind of think of the El Camino-esque cars from Australia as a fun novelty that might make a good niche project, but over there in addition to various performance versions these things are used as work trucks and can actually haul and tow a lot when equipped to do so. You can be sure they get much better fuel economey than the big US trucks, especially in six cylinder form, which makes me wonder if they wouldn't sell well as work trucks in today's more fuel countious environment. Remember how long GM waited to bring 4 door pick ups to the US even though they were selling a ton of them in South America? Sadly this will probably be the same.
