I looked at the '57 this afternoon Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Thu, 28 Jul 2011 18:27:04 In Reply to: Restoration costs....., Mike Lynch [Profile/Gallery] , Mon, 18 Jul 2011 10:01:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Definitely a ten footer - meaning it looks perfect from 10 feet away or more. It might even be a five footer.
But there are some strange things I spotted in the door openings and with door sag that may be as simple as new hinges, or as costly as $4K for new rocker panels and re-painting. Out of town for a few days, so I may need a body man to inspect it when I return.
BTW - Who replaces only one spark plug wire at a time on a 50+ year old 4-cylinder engine? All wires were Lucas brand, but the logos on the spark plug boots were not consistent. This may indicate a lot of foolish cost cutting by the current owner.
