iihs added a rollover test not that long ago (surprisingly it wasn't done sooner, but most older cars other than Saab or Volvo would have failed). Now most cars are better for roll over (to pass the test). One of my family members rolled a c900. No injuries and the car is still on the road today. Hardest part is getting it back on it's wheels! There was a great saab ad from the 9-3 era of the car driving up, 4 big guys get out, roll the car over, roll the car back on it's wheels, drive away... a highschool friend was killed in a rollover a few years back, and that car would have certainly been newer than the c900.
One of the other cool things with Saab's safety program is they did sequential testing. I've seen video of them rolling a car that had already been hit front on. Anyone who has done reliability testing knows that sequential testing is much more difficult to pass than parallel, and yet, in the real world, multiple impacts do occur. The safety mechanisms (cage airbags sahr etc) sometimes need to work for multiple impacts in the real world!
