If the A4 is on the list, I'd really look at a 320i xdrive. It's a fine all-around automobile, possibly better than the A4 at what it does. I've always had a little disdain for BMW's AWD offerings, but had that car as a rental a while back and liked it a fair amount. It has a good combination of specs, IMHO.
All of Buick's cars are available with AWD next year, which reminds me I forgot the Regal. The Regal is essentially an updated 9-3SS, so if you liked your Saab it's probably worth a look. I'm not sure how you treat car ownership, but I would certainly consider future resale value as part of your equation. Buicks have crap resale, so while they may be cheaper up front you might find the A4 or 3er to be a better use of money long term.
I personally really like the Venza. It strikes me as the spiritual successor to the Previa, which was a fine, fine minivan. The Venza is super comfy and reasonable to drive, and of course you get that Toyota resale. I don't see many Venzas on the road, and I've been meaning to look and see what sales have been like but haven't. I just wonder how popular it really is.
I'd probably also look at the Passat. I don't think it's based on the Audi B platform anymore, but it's still a pretty nice car. I've not driven the AWD version, but the FWD version is nice if not a little bland, and has gotten reasonably high marks from magazines. VWs also tend to have good resale, so it might be a good alternative to the Regal in that sense... a lateral move luxury-wise with a better financial outcome.
And, really, don't discard the ATSx or CTSx. I'd take either over the Buick, personally, as the cost premium is small and the dealership experience superior - IME. Not *sure* I'd chose one over something German from a resale perspective, though... but I might, just to be different. Both of these cars are quite nice IMHO - and possibly better styled than the Audi or BMW, if nothing else.
