Has always driven a 2-door Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 8 Feb 2015 09:19:54 In Reply to: why 2 doors?, Snowmobile [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 7 Feb 2015 17:37:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So that is what he wants to continue driving. He really is not that young anymore. He is still single though and a "Non-Traditional" Med School Student. Verbal short hand for anyone who enters Med School after a brief career in a non-medical field. For him this means five years of software performance testing and three years of neuro-biology research, sandwiched around a two year Pre-Med program.
I have tried to encourage him to consider gently used recent model year cars to save money but he wants to buy new again. He will have owned his GrandAm for 13 years in a few months and it has 170K miles. Or as he puts it, "Only 170K miles", I guess he got that opinion from my high mileage Saabs.
I am just trying to collect info in case he calls one day to say his car is dead and the mechanics quoted a repair price for the replacement parts and service that is too high to justify spending.
From a price and appearance standpoint I like the Hyundai, but it is RWD making it slightly more challenging in winter and the choice will be his.
