stock turbo is small Posted by jak [Email] (#195) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jak) on Wed, 7 Dec 2005 14:12:08 In Reply to: Big turbo?, Gary, Wed, 7 Dec 2005 10:24:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
with a high compression engine you can make a bigger (slower spooling higher flowing) turbo spool up quicker (fuel mapping only helps so much)
with a small (stock turbo) it will spool up quickly but will run out of steam verry erly & cause pre ignition starting at about 4000RPM depending where boost is set even lower
so you are using the bigger then stock turbo, intercooler & exhaust to make more flow at lower boost levels & them my fuel chip provides the ability to use larger then stock injectors to fuel your HP reasonably while keeping good drivability & fuel milage
