I have spoken with 3 turbo places all very reputable and all told me that to upgrade to an 18t wheel on a 15t turbo there is no machining of the compressor housing necessary. If the correct clip is performed on the wheel it fits. Although i found that one tuner (will remain nameless) is not clipping the wheel and doing ALOT of machining to fit the wheel which scares me as to cracking a housing.
stick with a wheel clip...the spool will not be that horrible and you wont risk a compressor housing...
just my $.02 tho
