High-pitched, or low pitched? When I'm up at 15 psi up to around 20ish I hear a really high-pitched noise, sounds like a jet taking off (how ironic, a jet IS taking off!) The pitch climbs as the boost rises. I started hearing it only when I finally broke into the red zone... after a major overhaul.
The local turbo rebuilder here said that as the turbo wears, the tone one hears changes, and they can make a fair amount of noise at times (esp at higher than stock boost levels). Maybe that helps.
