Hi Steve, we go 86 ft lbs with ARP lube but make sure they're the reduced shank ones that I believe Nick gets from Stephan rather than the earlier straight shank ones that were available for a while. The straight shank studs could in fact damage the head as they wouldn't allow for the expansion a contraction from an aluminum head. On the Saab engines I do personally I re-machine the tapered shoulder from the coarse end of these studs so they reach further into the block which they're overall length is perfect for. If you shoot me an email I'll send you a picture if the studs I did for Claude's ice race motor. Take care, Dave
