Hey Steve,
I agree with Dave about the torque with the ARP moly lube of 80-86lbs(NO 90 degree turns). The instructions that came in the ARP box provided torque specs to be used with the moly lube, with 30w oil and (gulp)...dry. The dry specs were very high, well over 100ft lbs.
I spoke with Nick this morning about my concerns with Dave's post as I am using the earlier studs. Nick has assured me that the ARP rep gave very good data supporting this application on high boosting Saab engines. Nick asked if I boosted the engine when cold and I certainly would never do that. If this is the only concern, then I feel much better, but I am very interested to learn more about the difference in studs and if I am making a mistake or not. According to Nick, ARP says no, but since I find myself pushing the stock limits of hp/torque...I am interested in any arguments....
