it's officially the Carlisle Import and Kit Car show
it happens every year. i haven't been for a few years, but i have been a few times. it's great if the weather is decent. it often rains and is cold. it often happens on mothers day weekend.
there are saabs there, but it is by no means limited to. i have seen a lancia stratos, various formula vees and dune buggies, a volvo wagon with a supercharged ford 5.0 and brembo brakes, a few countachs, lotus 7s, and some extremely convincing 427 cobra replicas. also a fiat 600 with a nitroused toyota 16 valve 2 liter, all sorts of british car-loving perverts, and a whole section of fiero enthusiasts (who woulda thunk it?). there's citroen row, there's boxes and boxes of rusty parts under folding tables, there's a good chance you'll find what you need if you look hard enough.
if you're into cars that don't have 7 liters of displacement and pushrods (chopsticks?), it's the east coast mecca.
of course there's the thumpy neon riceboy tent too.
it's worth the trip. you can stay in harrisburg at the hilton for cheap (for a hilton) H-burg is about 20 minutes from carlisle.
