89 800 t
first, thanks to everyone re: the cutoff/too lean thread.
I popped off the old spark plugs and they were toasted...
so today I put in the new ones, along with a Rising Rate, 24 lb injectors, and a 20 psi bypass valve, adjusted the timing to 19 degrees (and an AID) and gapped the plugs at .024.
Now for the test drive... da da daaaa... and my impression:
the serious engine and fuel stutter I was getting is gone... HOWEVER!
now there is no sutter or fluctuation, but as soon as the turbo hits about 15 psi it starts bouncing back to 10 or so, 12, etc.
I can't feel any thing, but there is large movement of the needle and it fluctuates a lot... my self tweaked APC would hold just fine until about 16 psi then it would bounce (and stutter)... with the SPG9 one, now, it cannot get to and hold anything over like 12 pounds, just bouncces all 'round the room.
my question, what else is there to adjust... what should the base boost be set at? do I have to play with the waste gate rod?
thanks again,
martin
