I believe in getting the air cleaner completely out of the engine compartment, in other words into cold air. If an NA 9K is similar to a turbo car it's pretty easy to build an (1/8") aluminum plate to fit where the old air box mounted in the inner finder well. I TIG welded an appropriate length 3" aluminum tube in the plate then rolled beads on either end. Then you can attach your AMM to inside with a hose and clamp a large after market air cleaner on the outside in the cold air. Anyway this works great in a turbo 9K application. Hope this helps, Dave
