About 7 yrs ago, had Blizzaks on my wife's '88 9kt. We were living in Maine and took a drive up to Burlington, VT in March, during a snowstorm. Nighttime, kids in the car, the whole thing. I think we saw about 7 or 8 cars in the ditch, and one that had bounced back and forth between guardrails on an icy bridge (I'd hate to see his laundry bill). I was surprised when I started to see all these cars off the road, as it just didn't seem slippery to me. The tires performed excellently, never slipped, very sure-footed on all those back roads. Here's the interesting part: when we got home, I looked at the tread on the tires, and they were certainly past half-way through, so we were into that all-season tread that is supposed to be so mediocre. But it was great.
Fast forward to more recently, with my wife's '01 9-5 wagon. We put some Nokian WR's on it, after reading that they were so excellent, and neither of us was very impressed. She used them two seasons, then we changed to Blizzaks and noticed an immediate improvement. Not sure why we went with Nokians after our previous experience with Blizzaks was so great...
