I've found through trial and error that a proper gradual curve works best. I played with shims to get the stronger spring I use just right so there simply is no extra retard until needed. We'll do dyno testing once we're finally located in NY, ironically the dyno is already there but the rest of our shop won't be there and all setup until June or July. I came up with a simple way to make the retard limit adjustable plus if someone wants to go through the trouble the retard spring can be shimmed with the extra shim I include for your desired boost levels. I did help an electronic genius friend of mine make an MSD BTM work with a device I made up for him to stop the BTM from retarding more than necessary at a given (adjustable) point. The new Bosch units that I make the A.I.D's from have gone up to where they come out $229 however I can do them on an exchange basis for $149 including re-planting which makes them even better than new ones! Remember I'm rather opinionated on this subject because I like my early (rare) Saab's to look stock under the hood and still haul ass! Take care, Dave
