These calipers are the same basic construction, but the c900 piston bore is 54mm and the 9000 piston bore is 57mm. The pads are noticeably larger on the 9000, some here have said 33% bigger and I'd believe that. Another bonus is that you can buy pads for the E30 M3 (much better selection) and they fit with a little filing of the backplate.
The 9000 caliper can also handle a 25mm thick rotor, while the c900 caliper is built for a 23.5mm rotor. The extra thickness buys you more resistance to overheating, but also means a little more weight (couple pounds at the most).
I had this combo on my SPG for awhile and it worked great (as in, better than stock was) with the only downside being a slight softening of the pedal due to the larger pistons. Now I'm working with a Wilwood big brake kit from Scanwest Autosport - I'll report on that soon.
