The principles are the same, port matching and polishing the exhaust side to a mirror finish helps flow and helps keep carbon from building up in the ports. The intake side should remain fairly ruff to help fuel atomization and then there is a lot of gains to be had by flowing the 16 valve bowels. There are a lot of ruff edges and lines in there that can be smoothed out and flowed into the head and into the ports. The ruff casting can be blended and smoothed out to aid in smooth flow. The combustion chambers can also be smoothed out and polished to aid in flow and carbon build up, by having a mirror finish, the carbon has a harder time attaching itself to the combustion chamber and less carbon build-up means less detonation and more boost and power can be had. The gains are that felt most are when you transition from no boost to boost, that transition is much smoother and the power feels much smoother and this is better on your drive-train and other parts that usually get slamed once the boost hits, it will come on much smoother with a p/p head. The other gains are better higher flow and this becomes important with a larger turbo especially and lets the head breath easier. I did it and think it worked great. Very smooth power transition and more power too! Good Luck, John
