Hey Wayne,
My father and I just finished this exact project...had a turbo car with blown hg, bad trans, but good body, and a spare 2.1 motor in very good condition. So, what'd we do? Put the 2.1 in the turbo car with the turbo gear on it. Quiet a frankenstein, and in the interest of time and how the car would be driven (just a commuter), we opted to simply run base boost (5-6psi) without the APC. The car has some interesting characteristics, and while I would say that the 'right' way to do it would be transfer the whole system over as GaryK stated above, this works pretty well for a daily driver. It has a good amount more pull from 2k-3500rpm, and still gets about 29mpg. No problems yet, but we also run at least 89 octane (usually 92) to help prevent knock (havent noticed any yet). Conversely, just swap the entire spg motor into the 900s shell, and toss that 2.1 head on! Good luck with your project!
