I have heard both sides, some guys rave about the total seal rings and some guys say they are stronger and better in the beginning, but do not last as long. I know there are quite a few people that have run them Like Kevin Yankton and others with good luck. My engine builder, who builds a lot of race motors is who recommended them to me for my engine build and that is why I went with them. The compression ring has no gap like a traditionial ring, I will let everyone know if I end up having issues with them, but so far so good :-)
The flywheel thing is debatable, you give up some streetability and its hard to get going from a stop from what I hear, but once you are going it helps to rev the motor faster. Some feel you need the mass of the flywheel to keep the energy stored, so its a trade-off, I opted not to lighten the flywheel. Je pistons has the total seal brand rings. Good Luck,
John
