I installed a Spearco liquid intercooler about 6 years ago in my 85 900t. I turned the I/C 90 degrees from factory unit and had it up against the sheet metal. This allowed me to run a ram intake right off the bumper.
Pump wise, I used a Jabco pump that runs continously. Use the largest water lines you can as you want high flow rate, not high pressure. Corky Bell's book recommended this particular pump.
Heat exchanger for water = a 48 row oil cooler that I got from Racers wholesale. Mounted right behind grill.
All intake plumbing was increased in size and custom made. I kept the aluminum factory piece that mates up to the TB, but then had it cut to match new plumbing.
Reservoir: Kind of goofy, but it works, a 5 gallon gas can mounted in trunk. I looked at aluminum custom units, but a close to $1,000, I like the goofiness. Besides, it works. I think Corky Bell recommends a minimum of 2 gallons for reservior.
I don't think you'll need water injection with the liquid I/C installed, beside, Corky Bell has no use for them.
