Anyone know the headbolt torque used on the Pikes Peak Posted by AdamB [Email] (#3) [Profile/Gallery] (more from AdamB) on Mon, 21 May 2007 08:06:16 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Viggen? It used bolts going all the way through the block right? A friend of mine is having a bit of trouble with water leaking into the oil with his turbo'ed drag race car which is running 2.5 bar boost on a 4L Ford V6 (around 800HP at the moment). It has bolts going all the way through the block, o-ringed cylinders and copper headgasket.
We are a couple of people who think the problem is caused by using too low torque on the headbolts but he doesn't agree, so I thought I'd figure out what the Pikes Peak Viggen used. I know it's a completely different engine with different headgasket surface area, number of headbolts etc, but still, there shouldn't be a huge difference.
