If the shop is machining your deck surface make sure to take them the timing cover and rear seal plate with hardware so all three surfaces are cut equally. The balance shaft bearings will probably be removed for de-greasing anyway so maybe just reinstall them with the feed holes misaligned using loc-tite to hold them in securely. Then just plug the tensioner hole with a recessed hex drive 1/8" NPT plug and you're completely rid of the balance shafts! Dave.
