So tell me about glazing

Today while doing some spirited driving I noticed an odor like a slipping clutch might make, and also in the upper revs it did not seem to be holding.
97 aero maptun/3 with a 5 month old spec 1 clutch. I did the full break in with the new clutch, and generally baby it, don't race around, but I do get on it occasionally, but this was the first time there was an odor and what felt like slipping.
So my question is did I glaze my pressure plate? If I did, am I screwed or can anything be done to correct it other than replacment.
Thanks,
Kurt
