I never get to use the 'top end'. Top end on my 1997 900SE with some mods is well into the law breaking speeds. I'll take the torque down low. Yes these cars are torquey, but laggy too. I feel this helps with that greatly. To each his own. Plenty of mods to increase top end too... IC, Turbo swap, software. Not as many to get you power down low... MBC? Software?
There is no difference in the 1 piece or 2 piece design of the two manifolds, I don't what you are referring to Chad. The turbo throttle body bolts up to both just the same, they are both 'two piece'. The only difference is the longer runners and much deeper profile of the NA manifold.
Tips for install... Have coolant on hand, you'll be losing some. Pay attention to the orientation of the throttle body lines. Have a new Intake manifold gasket on hand before attempting and scrape the block clean for a good seal(VERY IMPORTANT, don't lean out a cylinder with an air leak). Have some flex joints and extensions to get the studs on the bottom.
Have fun!
