I can't imagine replacing something that constrictive with a larger, better flowing pipe won't produce any gains, it will spool up faster. If this happens then the powerband increases, ie more torque at lower rpms.
This is my first saab that isn't 20 years old so the engine management side of the things is all new to me. But if you decrease the work load on the turbo, air flows easier and faster, more efficiently.
